Have you ever wondered why so many people live like they have something to prove? The Apostle Paul says the answer is often a misunderstanding of identity! I would agree. As David mentioned last week, we are a NEW creation! Once a person decides to follow Jesus, repents and asks Jesus to be their Savior – then they come up out of the baptismal waters as a new creation. Our identity is now found In Jesus Christ – Identity changes everything! We become children of God. Everyone is born in the Image of God, but not everyone is a child of God. We become a child of God when and only when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior then our new identity is a child of the the Most High – a prince or princess in the Kingdom of God. We become brothers and sisters in Christ – God’s Family! Therefore you are not working FOR a place in God’s family – you are living FROM your place in God’s family!
